Newbridge Rail Group (NRG)

Who are we?
We are a group of commuters who were getting no satisfaction from queries put to Irish Rail as individuals. As a result we decided to form NRG – Newbridge Rail Group in the hope that as a group representing over 1,000 train users in Newbridge our voice would be heard.

What have we done so far?
We held a public meeting in Newbridge at the start of February. A great number of Newbridge train users turned up with a lot of issues. We gathered the issues that were raised and compiled them into a document. We have sent this document to Myles McHugh, Service Planning Manager with Irish Rail.

Next Steps
We have requested that Myles McHugh and a number of his colleagues attend a public meeting in Keadeen Hotel on Thursday 23rd March at 8.30pm to address the issues raised in the document by the train users of Newbridge and to deal with any other issues that may arise on the night.

Our Aim
We wish to highlight to Irish Rail the issues of train users in Newbridge, both commuters and intercity passengers.
We hope that Irish Rail will respond and act to rectify the issues raised. We have highlighted some of the issues as short term and we feel that these can be addressed immediately. There are also other serious issues, which need to be addressed as soon as possible for example the lack of adequate parking facilities.
